RD3: Improvement of low-run molds for injection molding
Presentation
This demonstrator aims to increase the service life of polymer molds used for small-batch injection molding tenfold, from 50 to 500 parts. By using high-performance polymers and innovative surface treatments to increase their strength, we aim to offer a competitive alternative to aluminum molds, particularly for applications with demanding surface finish requirements such as optics and microfluidics. The goal is to drastically reduce the costs and production times for these tools.
