RD7: Advanced surface treatments for feedstocks
Presentation
The objective of this demonstrator is to enable the reuse of recycled polymer materials in additive manufacturing without any loss of performance. To achieve this, we use cold plasma technology to treat powders or granules. This surface treatment modifies their properties (for example, to improve adhesion between particles) without altering their basic characteristics, thereby overcoming one of the main obstacles to the use of recycled plastics in technical applications.
