RD6: Reuse of recycled metal materials
Presentation
Some metal additive manufacturing processes, such as DED, can lose up to 50% of the powder used, which is both an economic and environmental challenge. This demonstrator aims to prove the viability of recycling these lost metal powders. Using plasma spheroidization technology, we recondition used powders to restore their optimal properties (geometry, surface chemistry) for reuse, with a target recycling rate of 80%.
